Year 5 visit to Middlewich Brine Pump

Class: Year 5CS Year: 2023 - 2024

Year 5 visited Middlewich Brine Pump.

The children heard all about how the discovery of Brine under the ground meant the beginning of the salt industry at Middlewich.

We learnt how the pump managed to extract the brine from the ground and the process needed to separate the salt from the brine.  

This has not only been a great introduction to our Materials topic in Science but has also given us a greater insight into the history of Middlewich.
