Childline: Assistance for Children
At Middlewich Primary School, we are committed to the wellbeing and safety of our children. We understand that sometimes children may need someone to talk to about their concerns, and that is why we want to make sure you know about the support available through ChildLine.
How can ChildLine help?
When you contact ChildLine on 0800 1111, you will be connected to a trained counsellor who is there to listen and support you with anything you would like to talk about. Additionally, you have the option to have a confidential one-to-one counsellor chat online.
Confidential and Free Support
Calls to ChildLine are free from both landlines and mobiles in the UK, and they will not appear on your phone bill. Even if you do not have credit on your mobile phone, you can still call ChildLine for free.
Confidential Policy
Calls are not recorded, and their number will not show up on any phone bill. Counsellors may take notes during the conversation, but this information is kept confidential. ChildLine will only share information if:
·You ask them to
·They believe your life, or someone else’s life is in danger
·You are being harmed by someone in position of trust who can harm other children (such as a teacher, religious leader, sports coach, police officer or doctor)
·You disclose serious harm to another person
·You report another child being harmed and unable to seek help or understand what is happening
·They are legally required to do so, for example, for a court case.
ChildLine is here to provide confidential support whenever you need it. You are not alone and there is always someone ready to listen and help.
