Reception 2019 - 2020

Mrs Webster

Mrs Rogerson

Mrs Pillai

Welcome to the Foundation Stage!

We would like to extend a huge welcome to all our new parents and children.

This half term, as the children settle into school, our topic will be 'All About Me'. Within this topic we will be learning about each of our special families, sharing our hobbies and learning about all of our new friends. We will discuss the importance of our Reception motto 'kind hands, kind words and kind feet' and implement this both inside and outside the classroom.

Within the classroom we have fun and stimulating role play areas for the children to explore; a shoe shop, a forest and our author's corner. Throughout this half term the children will have lots of opportunities to explore their creative side by painting self portraits, making crispy cakes, collaging pictures and building with Lego.

We love to share stories with the children and in this topic we will listen to and retell stories including Harry and the Dinosaurs go to School, Dogger and Eyes, Nose, Fingers and Toes.

Just a little reminder:

  • Please ensure your child has their name clearly labelled in all clothing including PE kits and coats.
  • PE is on TUESDAY and THURSDAY.
  • Can all children please bring a clearly named bottle of water to school each day.
  • Reading books will be changed every Monday and Friday.
  • Your child will bring home their Amazing Me book every Friday with a new task to complete.

Many thanks.
