Reception 2017 - 2018

Mrs Rogerson

Mr Swift

Welcome to the Foundation Stage!

Mrs Rogerson, Mrs Pillai and Mr Swift send out a warm welcome to all our new families.

We will be settling the children into our class routines over the first few weeks. As explained in your welcome pack, please ensure your child brings their reading folder into school each day. Books will be changed on a Monday and Friday with the children sharing a reading session at some point during the week. Please share your childs reading book each evening for 5-10 minutes. It would be greatly appreciated if you would write a comment in their reading diary. Every Friday the staff will reward those children who are reading at home.

Each Friday we will send home an Amazing Me activity to be completed by the following Tuesday. This can be related to the topic or can be a stand alone task. The children will have the opportunity to present their homework with the help of the teaching staff.

This half term our topic is 'All About Me'. The children will be sharing information about themselves and their special families. We will discuss where and who we live with, share our likes and dislikes, and begin to label parts of the body. We will share stories related to the topic and we will enjoy exploring our role play areas.

Just a little reminder:

  • Please ensure your child has their name clearly labelled in all clothing including PE kits and coats.
  • Can all children please bring a clearly named bottle of water to school each day.

Many thanks.
