Hi 5B! smiley

Your home learning chart is now on our class page. Go to 'Class Pages' - '5B', then scroll down until you see 'Files to Download' - 'Year 5 Week Beginning 23.3.20'.

Have a look through all of the activities. If you have any questions, please reply to this blog and share any work that you are particularly proud of. Don't forget, you can choose some fun activities from the ideas sheet in the 'Home Learning' section on the website and make sure you do regular exercise.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Mrs Berry smiley

P.S We are 5th on TT Rockstars! surprise Can you help us to climb the leader board?

Hi Sam,
Your maths sessions should include some fluency and arithmetic time either on TT Rockstars, Hit the Button or Top Marks. In addition, we would like you to write a set of instructions for adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions. Use your Power Maths book (p42 onward) to help you complete this task.

Look at the Home Learning sheet for the links for the other tasks to complete in your book.

Hi Jack,

You could explore all the different relationships in the play. For example, Romeo and Rosaline. You could also consider how William Shakespeare expressed the theme of love through his play Romeo and Juliet.

I look forward to hearing about your piece of work.

Hi Maisy,

If you look at the Year 5 home learning sheet you will find an English task for each day.
The daily tasks are:
Complete the sentences
Design a poster or write an explanation text to show the themes of love, religion (Friar Laurence) and monarchy (Prince Escalus) in the play Romeo and Juliet.
Three spelling activities (–ant, –ance/–ancy, –ent, –ence/–ency)
You will also find a spelling sheet at the bottom of the year 5 home learning document for you to complete.

On the 'Home Learning' page on our school website there is a timetable that you may wish to follow to help structure your day. Next to each task you will also see how long each task should take either 1 session or 2.

I hope this helps. Let me know how you get on : )
