The Arete Centre
2nd October 2023 - 5th October 2023
The children had a fantastic time at the Arete Outdoor Education Centre, Llanrug, Wales. Each group took part in a range of activities such as rock climbing, gorge walking, zip-lining, coasteering, mining, canoeing and rafting.
In the evenings, the children took part in a scenic walk around the local area, solved problems and took part in the nightline which involves completing an obstacle course whilst blindfolded.
Whilst at the centre, the children had duties that they had to complete to help to develop their team work and independence. These included jobs such as hoovering, sweeping, serving and clearing the tables, setting the tables for dinner, making their lunches and drying the dishes.
The children were fantastic and really worked hard to achieve our school goal 'Working together to achieve the very best'. All of the staff that attended were impressed by their determination, teamwork and resilience. Well done year 6!
