UK Parliament Week 2018

We have enjoyed a busy UK Parliament Week.  We were delighted that Fiona Bruce, our local MP, could join us today to deliver an assembly describing her role, her inspirations and the laws she has been involved in creating.  Staff and children enjoyed the assembly and Mrs Bruce was very complimentary about their behaviour and engagement.  Throughout the week, children of all ages have developed an understanding of what Parliament is.  Key stage one have found out about democracy and voting.  Key stage two focused on debating and referendums.  Our eldest children developed an understanding of the process of how laws are made.  They also researched Mrs Bruce’s pledges and the six main aims of her campaign.
