Remembrance Day

Today we commemorated Remembrance Day by holding a two minutes silence at 11 o'clock to remember those people that have lost their lives whilst fighting for our country during the first and second world war and in more recent conflicts around the world.

Year 5 have been learning about how 'Remembrance Day' first started and why the poppy is so important as a symbol of remembrance as part of their English lessons this week. The work they completed in class and the information gained in lessons helped them to deliver a very respectful and informative assembly to their parents and KS2. They then visited the cenotaph in Middlewich to pay their respects and laid a wreath on behalf of the school.

We were very proud of all of the children's maturity and the respect shown during the assembly and the two minutes silence.
