What are we doing this year?

We begin Year 6 by studying The Wolves of Currumpaw in English. Our geography and history subjects link closely to this text. In geography the children will be studying the landscape in Midwest America and the impact the european settlers had on this. Our history focus is the development of transportation. In maths, we are consolidating our place value knowledge before moving on to learning the calculation methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Please see the bottom of the page for some helpful videos showing our methods. Our first science topic is electricity, We will be experimenting with circuits and learning lots about how electricity works. In RE this term, we will be listening to a range of gospels and discussing what readers may learn from them. We will be continuing to broaden our Fench vocabulary with Madame Miller.

And of course, JCA!

Miss Merson and Mrs Davies have been really impressed with the start we have made to this school year.
