5B Zoom Blog 29.06.2020

Date: 29th Jun 2020 @ 9:08am

Good morning 5B!

I really enjoyed our zoom lessons last week. We made a wonderful start to our new text, which I know was very popular! I also loved to hear about your home reading. It is great to hear you making recommendations to each other.

Your Zoom session day and time will be the same as last week. Your day and time will not change now. The sessions will be at 11am on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Please ask your parents/carers to look out for the email with all the relevant information on.

Before our lesson, please watch this video: [link here]. You will need to have watched this video before completing our first task: calculating angles on a straight line. When you come into the meeting, please complete the task on the screen where you will be calculating the missing angles. You can then share your answers and mark your work. After this, we will move on to learn about angles around a point.

Last week we met Simon Barbecue. We learnt that Simon is a legend in his own lifetime. There's nothing he won't do. However, Simon's self-confidence far outstrips his survival skills... What can you remember about his preparation plans for climbing Mount Everest? Make some bullet points before our lesson and write them in reply to this blog! If you can remember any geographical facts about Mount Everest please also add them to this blog too.

You will need to bring a pen, a piece of paper and your current reading book to your Zoom session. At the end of the session, we will discuss what you are reading at the moment. Think about why you chose your book, would you recommend it to your friends? If so, why?

Please remember to position your camera so we can see your head and shoulders clearly. To make sure that we have a successful Zoom session you must ensure that you:

  • Are respectful, polite and considerate of others at all times.
  • Listen carefully to the teacher and what others say.
  • Wait for your teacher to un-mute you.
  • Do not try and distract other children in the session (e.g. by pulling a silly face).
  • Do not change your background because this can distract other children.
  • Do not capture anything on the screen.
  • Do not leave the session unless you absolutely have to.

If you display poor behaviour, you will receive a warning. If this continues, your video and microphone will be disabled, and you may not be able to re-join the session.

I can't wait to see you all again!

Take care,

Mrs Berry

Hi Mrs Berry,
I’m sorry I didn’t attend to my zoom meeting on Tuesday. My Mum was working and my Dad had lots of meetings and I completely forgot about it.Is there any thing I need to know about next week’s meeting?
Stay Safe
