1S- Monday the 4th of May

Date: 4th May 2020 @ 8:46am

Good morning 1S,

I hope you have enjoyed uyour weekend. The weather forecast is for lots of sun this week. You might like to exercise outside this week if that's possible.

In maths this week we are going to look carefully at using the part-whole model to show two-digit numbers.

Have a look through this week's tasks with a grown up. Which challenges are you looking forward to completing the most? I am looking forward to sharing the traditional tale, Tiddalik. There are some weird and wonderful animals in this story that comes all the way from Australia.

I am also excited to recap the frog life cycle. I might even have a go at carefully drawing my own frog.

Keep safe and let me know how you are finding this week's activities.

Mr Swift :)

I have liked cutting and colouring different shapes in half. I also liked the computer game to count in tens.
I can't wait to go to the zoo.

Hi Josh, that sounds great fun. How did you get on? Remember, you can also use the part and the whole to find a missing half. I am good thank you Josh. How are you?

Hi Oliver,

I am so glad you are looking forward to learning about the life-cycle of a frog. Maybe your tadpoles will begin to grow and turn into froglets soon. That's so exciting!

Hi Mr Swift
I loved Maths last week and this morning I enjoyed phonics. I love the spelling frame games 🙂.
I'm looking forward to talking about travelling around the world. I wish we could visit the places on the list now. I am also excited about having a tea party on Friday and making flags and cakes for it.
I find drawing things tricky but I am trying my best.

Love from Jacob

Hi Jacob,
I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well with your home learning.
I would love to visit lots of countries around the world. Which country would you most like to visit? Maybe you could learn and write some facts about this country.
I hope you enjoy your VE party on Friday. I am sure your flags will look great and your cakes will taste delicious!
I find drawing things quite tricky too. I am so proud that you are trying your best. The more you practise, the better you will get.

Hi everybody and Mr Swift too. I have enjoyed doing white rose maths and part whole models. I loved the frog lifecycle, my froglet looks very very funny! I hope yours look really really good. I really enjoyed doing the sink and float activity in my garden, I guessed a lot correct - Yay! I struggled last week with quarters but I am playing cafe today to share out food and talk about quarters. What are you doing on VE Day Mr Swift?

I am excited to be celebrating VE Day on Friday. I am going to make some flags and bake a cake to enjoy in the garden. I am hoping it will be a lovely sunny day like it is today. What are you planning to do for your VE Day celebration?
